End of year-round-up by CEO, Cathie Clarke Welcome to the final UKSFA newsletter for 2025. Christmas is just around the corner, and I am sure that everyone in the flooring…
A strategic step: This change will better represent our commitment to the wider flooring sector – which still very much encompasses carpets and textile flooring, but also resilient flooring such as vinyl and LVT.
Our mission is to support the flooring industry to reduce the amount of textile and resilient flooring in the UK going to landfill and to encourage and support more sustainable design and solutions leading to a circular economy.
We do this by working with businesses in the supply chain, government and academia to foster collaborations and networks to achieve viable market-based solutions, encouraging design for recyclability and reuse.
Members include businesses and organisations from every stage of the flooring supply chain from raw materials suppliers and manufacturers, to retailers, installers, recyclers, re-use organisations and equipment providers.
As a UKSFA member, you can get advice on all aspects of textile and resilient recycling and re-use, learn about technical innovations and take advantage of new opportunities, and play a part in framing environmental policies. Membership is also a great way to demonstrate your green credentials to the growing number of customers looking for better environmental solutions to flooring waste.
This is a great resource for retailers to pass on to clients and for domestic home owners to find out how to responsibly dispose of their end of life flooring.
If flooring is in good condition and could be used again, we encourage you to investigate re-use options.
