Who we are

A force for change

The UKSFA is an independent non-profit membership association working with manufacturers, distrubutor, contractors, retailers, fitter and the waste sector including reuse and recycle organisations. Our mission is “To encourage and support more sustainable design, solutions and best practice leading to a circular economy through influence, education and collaboration. We will do this through:

  • Uniting the entire flooring supply chain under a shared sustainability agenda
  • Supporting members to comply, compete and innovate as regulation, client demand, and environmental expectations increase
  • Acting as the trusted industry voice influencing policy, standards and best practice
  • Delivery of practical solutions that move sustainability from ambition to action

Our goals

Increase diversion

Engagement - Influencing, educating and supporting all stakeholders in the flooring sector is how UKSFA brings together manufacturers, contractors, retailers, waste management companies, government departments and others to allow collaboration leading to a more sustainable flooring industry.

Support

Takeback Schemes - Providing guidance and collaboration leading to an efficient and cost effective network of takeback operations. Supporting our members and the wider flooring industry through the entire supply chain to develop new reuse and recycling opportunities through effective takeback schemes.

Recognition

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) - Bringing together the flooring supply chain to define an Extended Producer Responsibility scheme blueprint for flooring waste management. The blueprint will outline an industry managed scheme where funds raised will be ploughed back into the sector to support takeback, reuse and recycling of flooring waste.
