CRUK’s Adnan Zeb-Khan was nominated and entered into the waste industry’s Hot 100, which celebrates individual achievements within the waste and resources industry. With 20+ years experience within the waste industry and six years expereicne of managing and directing Carpet Recycling UK, Adnan was a worthy contender.
Adnan joined Carpet Recycling UK as Manager in 2018 just over 10 years after the not-for-profit organisation was founded. Adnan works tirelessly to increase the membership and visibility of the not for profit membership association in order to help the carpet and textile flooring sector to become more sustainable, to reduce waste, increase reuse, recycling and to develop products in line with the principles of the circular economy. He is focused on representing the manufacturing sector and the rest of the membership network which covers the whole supply chain for carpets and textile flooring, for favourable policy change. He associates with other organisations to develop mutual understanding and learning for the advantage of the Carpet Recycling UK membership network. In 2022 and recently in June 2023 Adnan hosted Carpet Recycling UK’s successful annual conference which drew great feedback from the speakers and delegates from around the globe. Now in 2023 Carpet Recycling UK has grown its membership base to 135+ members with core support from 17 leading flooring manufacturers and distributors, increasing engagement with the industry by 89% in the last year.
We are pleased to announce that Adnan made it in the top 100 and came a respectable 64, beating some key industry figures which includes Dame Eleln MacArtur (85th) and Sir David Attenborough (77th) 😊 Adnan says – I didn’t expect to have been nominated let alone make the top 100 list and I am very grateful to all of you how put the time and effort in to vote for me.
