Carpet Recycling UK member Emerald Trading Waste Solutions was presented with the Recycler of the Year award at this year’s annual conference held in Birmingham.

Previously Best Newcomer of the Year, Emerald has been recognised for its innovative approach, and has designed and built a complete bespoke recycling plant that uses the most efficient and reliable machines. It processes carpet waste from post-consumer, automotive, off cuts, and post-production sources.

Director Mark Gilbert told us the demand for the uptake of carpet waste at the new recycling plant in Whitchurch, Shropshire is high.

As well as the established collection service of loose and baled carpet waste offered to larger customers, Emerald can now accommodate smaller deliveries from carpet fitters who might not normally be able to access this service, thus capturing carpet waste which may normally end up in landfill.

Emerald Trading’s brand Carpet Gallop has invested heavily to take up the demand for our recycled products. Carpet Gallop’s equestrian products are in demand all over the UK and Europe.
