Shaw Contract through its ongoing work with the Cradle-to-Cradle approach has introduced a new option for selected carpet tiles which is a yarn that contains 100% recycled content.
The EcoSolution Q100™ yarn system offers 100 percent post-industrial recycled content allocated from waste minimisation and collection efforts – that is utilising excess or scrap material which is broken down and reinserted into the yarn manufacturing processes.
This yarn is being used in carpet tile collections made in the UK for Shaw Contract which are optimised for low embodied carbon and are carbon neutral. As Shaw Industries is a vertically integrated manufacturer, it produces its own yarns for its commercial operations globally which supports the ability to allocate post-industrial (sometime called pre-consumer) recycled content.
