John Lewis have reinforced their support for carpet recycling by featuring a video on their main website of how they work alongside underlay supplier, Anglo Recycling, to take their carpet fitters offcuts, that used to go to landfill, and make them into a top quality underlay

John Lewis have always been a big supporter of Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK) who announced at the end of 2016 that carpet recycling had gone from 3% in 2008 to 35% in 2016.

Jane Gardner of CRUK commented: “We really appreciate the support of our major retail members. John Lewis have shown that working in partnership with Anglo Recycling, and with innovation and an entrepreneurial approach, they can divert substantial amounts of carpet from landfill and provide an underlay that their partners are proud to sell and their customer really appreciate.”

Indeed a customer from Harrogate commented on www.johnlewis.com about the upcycled felt/rubber underlay produced by Anglo Recycling exclusively for John Lewis: “This material was recommended by the John Lewis flooring specialist. We have found it to be good for reducing noise and is effective insulation. On a less practical level its bouncy texture make it’s a pleasure to walk in bare feet across the carpet!”
