Carpet Recycling UK is delighted to welcome Reuse Network into its membership and to demonstrate a closer relationship with the Reuse Network members. Visibility of our each other’s networks can help only increase the volume and quantity of materials that can be repurposed and used again.
We have long valued the accessibility of the Reuse Network website, for donation of materials as well as for finding items.
CRUK handles many enquiries from commercial companies and individuals who need support to find outlets for surplus flooring, and when the options in our network don’t work due to logistical reasons, we refer to Reuse Network online to find suitable charities and reuse organisations, linking them to the enquiries. In addition, we are often contacted by individuals and case workers who require carpets for their home, and we can demonstrate this too.
On 11 October 2022, Adnan Zeb-Khan attended the Reuse Network Conference and forged closer links with the organisation and its members. He took part in the ConverStation section, talking to groups of the charity members, talking about what we do and how we can help them with supply of surplus and graded flooring.
“I really enjoyed the conference; it was very worthwhile attending and delivering our message, being the only organisation that provided carpet and textile flooring solutions, it gave us great visibility and it was great meeting everyone. Adnan says. “We are already interacting with some of the Reuse Network members and look forward to working with them in the future to increase the volume of carpet tiles, surplus broadloom and rugs we can reuse for their clients.
“It is very important for us to increase our recording of tonnages where reuse is the outlet for material – help with this when it comes to our annual tonnage survey will be appreciated” he continued.
Hannah Jordan, Commercial Manager at Reuse Network commented “We are delighted to have been able to formalise our relationship with Carpet Recycling UK to help drive reuse in this sector.
Here at Reuse Network we believe in a society where everyone can create a sustainable home. We are working hard to make this vision a reality along with a vast network of charity and social enterprise members across the UK who each help divert items from landfill and into the homes of people who need them.
We continue to see an increase in the number of households in need of affordable flooring. Our relationship with Carpet Recycling UK and its members will help support even more low income households and increase the reuse of good quality flooring.”
