Bob Peoples keynote speaker at UKSFA Conference 2026

Executive Director of the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE), Bob Peoples, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for day one of the UKSFA Conference & Awards 2026, taking place on 1–2 July 2026.

Bob is an internationally recognised leader in carpet recycling, sustainability, green chemistry and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). His session will bring global insight, practical experience and strategic thinking to the conference, as well as the chance to book 1-2-1 sessions with him before and during the conference (members only).

A global sustainability expert

Robert Peoples, Ph.D., currently leads CARE, where he works to implement market-based solutions for the reuse and recycling of post-consumer carpet. Under his leadership, CARE has grown from its launch in 2002 into a $25 million operational organisation, driving significant progress in carpet reclamation across North America.

Bob has previously served as Director of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute in Washington, D.C., Sustainability Director for the Carpet & Rug Institute, and spent 23 years with Monsanto and Solutia as Director of Nylon Technology. He was also a key driver in the development of the NSF 140 Sustainable Carpet ANSI Standard, which remains influential worldwide.

Alongside his non-profit leadership, Bob is President of Environmental Impact Group, LLC, and has served on numerous scientific, technical and advisory boards. He is widely regarded as a generous and engaging speaker, known for sharing knowledge that helps shape practical, scalable solutions for the flooring industry.

Exclusive 1-2-1 meetings

To coincide with his visit to the UK, Bob Peoples is offering an exclusive, first-come, first-served opportunity for a limited number of members to book a private one-hour meeting. These sessions will take place on – 30 June 2026, or 2 July 2026, following a late lunch after the UKSFA Conference.

This is a unique chance to discuss carpet recycling, take-back schemes, EPR, policy development or specific business challenges directly with one of the world’s leading experts in this field.
