Anglo Recycling is well known for its circular story, working with national retailers like John Lewis to use clean textile flooring offcuts in new felt underlay ranges, creating insulation products as well as growing felts for micro herbs.
Simon Macaulay recently shared a new use for their products which we like very much!
“I just wanted to tell you about a really creative guy called Sunil who has started a really innovative company offering his unique fountain pens- www.thegoodblue.co.uk
Sunil is using our industrial wool felt in the packaging in a very unusual and clever way.
He is just a very gifted guy and I wish him all success with his start up- I think he might do rather well.
Sunil told us “It was refreshing working with Simon and Sandra to realise our concept. Our fountain pens are designed as an antidote to today’s throw away culture, meant to be used for decades and almost entirely plastic and petroleum product free. Designed and manufactured locally, in small batches with no over production.
We wanted our packaging to reflect this commitment. We were advised that this was impossible- not at our small volumes. Packaging recommendations we received were to use various foams and plastics and to source from the Far East to keep costs down. Anglo Recycling was the only local supplier who took our request seriously. They worked closely with us to bring our vision to life. And for them, it was about genuine commitment to sustainability rather than commercial profit. A true partner that we look forward to working with in the future as well!”
